Serial-style hero and dashing pilot Joe Sullivan (Jude Law) is unexpectedly reunited with ace reporter Polly Perkins (Gwyneth Paltrow), his ex-lover, when the plucky journalist needs to be rescued from giant robots terrorizing Manhattan.
